Wounded

black and blue bleeds from my pen
wounded words misunderstood;
scarlet stain bleeds on the wood
wounded man, my new amen.

grey and bleak, the shadows of mine
wounded hope, grasping for air;
stunning grace, kindness and care
wounded Saviour, my life define.

black and blue, bruises that scar
wounded heart, beaten and broke;
holy and pure, mercy that spoke
wounded healed - not love from afar!
