Subtle Signs

The closer the world gets to Heaven
the more signs there are sure to be
As a velvet curtain rising before a big show
or the fog lifting up from the sea

Like a whisper that falls on an ear
when there's not another around
Thunder when there isn't a cloud in the sky
will it be applause for a lost soul who'd been found?

We should look and listen for these things
in all that we see and we hear
Keeping in mind there will be those who'll doubt
criticize, call you crazy and jeer

He even tells us what we should look for
where in His book Revelations awakes
Preparing us for the times that will come
when people tremble while the earth shakes

God granted to us some discernment
as companion to our ears and our eyes
To help us recognize a message sublime
as our heads remain turned toward the skies…
