Shadow's Last Dance

Dreams lay scattered, in the ruins of despair
bruised shadows; inflicting pain I cannot share,
lost in shame - I wander in confusion
eyes downcast, joy becomes my illusion.

Plans lay scattered, in the grave of expectations
shadows dance; haunted by our limitations,
lost in fear - disfigured by the anxious curse
hope downcast, diverted by my selfish verse.

Bones lay scattered, in the valley of despair
sin's shadow; inflicting scars beyond compare,
lost to self - disconnected from my Lord
my heart downcast, God's love is just ignored...

Nails lay scattered, beneath the cross of Jesus
shadows flee; silenced by a fresh-new thesis
lost to light - restoring life through sacred
hell downcast, love is defeating hatred.

Blood lays scattered, cleansing dirty with the pure,
bruised shadows; inflicting pain He does endure,
lost no more - I can join the bridal waltz
eyes uplifted, despair His mercy halts!
