If I could walk beside the sea
Where Jesus walked in Galilee,
Or see His footprints in the sand
Look on His face or touch His hand.
Could I have been there on the boat
And in its clear blue waters float,
With Jesus sleeping close at hand
The power of God at his command.
When clouds began to fill the sky
And howling winds made waves dash high,
Could I have faith in one so near
Or like His friends, be filled with fear.
Oh weak and fearless lowly man
Why not believe and understand?
The master of that storm tossed sea
Is still as near to you and me.
We see His footprints in the sand
Or almost touch His nail scarred hand,
He walks beside us day by day
We fail to see Him on the way.
