Lonely Without You

by Kristine Stanton © 2026

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
(Psalm 34:18, NIV)

I miss you with each passing day;
I'm lonely without you.
The mem-or-ies within my heart
are days that we once knew.

In silence I still walk with you
and dream of holding hands.
The love I have for you won't fade
as did our dreams and plans…

My hopes, my dreams, and all my plans
with you have gone away.
They left me when God called you Home,
and now they cause dismay…

Dismay because you are not here
to help me follow through.
I can't complete them all alone—
I cannot without you.

I know that I must persevere—
I know you'd want me to.
But it will take a long, long time
to heal and make it through.

I'm well aware I'm in God's care—
He's ever by my side—
and every day He sees my pain
through all the tears I've cried.

He knows the grief, the sorrow, pain—
the anguish that I feel,
as I'm reminded every day
that your death is real...

Through all of this, God comforts me,
and cradles me at night.
He whispers softly to my heart
that He'll make all things right.

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die...
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
(Ecclesiastes 3:2,4, NIV)
