Overcoming The Evil One

by Albert Watson

The lion may roar, serpent bite heel,
But we the blood of Christ appeal.
He roams around seeks to devour,
Stand then saints by the Spirits power.
Beelzebub lord of the flies,
Seeks to devour with subtle lies.
Let us discern that which is right,
He may appear as an angel of light.
Watch for his wiles his evil tricks
And let your eyes on Jesus fix.
His desire is to sift like wheat,
With Gods own word let us defeat.
That fallen angel, filled with pride,
Who God the Father cast aside.
At work now in those who disobey,
Who know the truth yet will not pray.
Following this foul ruler of the air,
Ignore our words as we try to share.
Because we know of their final state,
Saints let us on our Father wait.
Cry for mercy, ask they might see,
Calvary's cross, Christ's agony.
For it is not Fathers will or desire.
They experience death, Satan's fire.
