Praying For Better Days

by Deborah Smith Plemmons © 2020

We're all a part of the human race;
No matter the color of our face.
Red, or yellow, or black, or white,
God commands us to do what's right.

We should love and care for each other:
Father, Mother, sister, or brother,
Our friends, our neighbors, our enemy;
Show God's love, unconditionally.

There is much unrest across our land;
Violence and hate go hand in hand.
When gatherings are done, peacefully,
They are the ones to be heard, clearly.

We are all in these times together;
Facing sickness, death, stormy weather.
If we, again, be a nation that prays,
There's no doubt, we'll see better days.

Psalm 84:11

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield:
the Lord will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from
them that walk uprightly.”
