SHAME, SHAME ON THAT LONG MANE

by Margaret Cagle

Short hair! Long hair! It's a big fuss.
What a big issue for a church to discuss!
I don't have the answer, and that's that,
But many will say at the drop of a hat,
A man's hair should not touch his collar.
That's well and good if you have a dollar
To get a haircut before it's too long,
But if it touches his ears, is it wrong?

Haircuts now are a dollar and plus,
So let's excuse the teens who ride a bus.
Shouldn't the older guys know better?
Be thou holy and groom by the letter!
Who will be the hair policeman today?
We must measure his hair, so he can pray.
Guys, just wear it neat and not too long,
So you won't look like hairy King Kong.
