Bottled by Ordinary

by Catherine Deaton

Bottled by ordinary
Trapped in mundane
You were extraordinary
World, never the same.

You challenged the rulers
Created new laws
A rebel to many
Not understanding your cause.

Socializing with sinners
Uninterested in fame
Wealthy, lavish life
You shunned, unclaimed.

Empty words echo
Proclaim love for You
Insist You're our model
Appearance, untrue.

Lives literally wasted
Vanishing sand
Slipping through time
No touch of Your hand.

We toil and strain
Priorities askew
Planning, demanding
Not listening to You.

We're wise in our eyes
Lacking in truth
Decaying of souls
Visualize the proof.

Who will break out
Bottle so strong
Who will step forward
Shatter the wrong?

Is anyone willing?
Break free from the crowd
Eternity beckons
Now clamoring loud.

Bottled by ordinary
Trapped in mundane
It's time for extraordinary
It's time for a change!
