I Wish I'd Been There

I wish I'd been there
In the stillness of that night
When the Child was born to set things right
And the world was filled with His light
It must have been an amazing sight

I wish I'd been there
When the Spirit filled Him on that day
And the Father blessed Him on His way
Just to be there to hear Him say
"Follow Me I am the Way"

I wish I'd been there
When Jesus prayed in Gethsemane
And He asked "take this cup from me"
Crying tears of blood in agony
Knowing He must die to set us free

I wish I'd been there
When the Son rose on that day
And Jesus washed our sins away
But listen now and hear Him say
"Follow Me I am the Way"
