Rainbow song

by Marvin Kinnison

A flash of beauty
quick and sharp
pierced my soul
In darkest night.

I stopped my breath
To hear a harp
Play a song
Of God's true light.

I was a tree
the wind did shake.
My tears were leaves
fell to the ground.

My heart did melt.
And when God spake
I was undone
By love's own sound.

I had a name
He took away
so I could not
Be I alone.

But one with others
on that day
to whom He gave
a name...His own.

A name of honor
Just. And right.
The sound of which
Is like a harp.

A rainbow song
of God's true light.
A flash of beauty.
Quick. And sharp.
