Re-Birth

by Alyssa Panck © 2009

Born.
Breathing.
Independently
But so needy.
Heart beating
But sleeping.
Growing.
Pleasure seeking.
Happiness fleeting.
Life is a highway.
Everybody's speeding.
Road gets slippery.
Rain blocks my view.
The past is history.
My future is unused.
Time is opposition.
There's a fork in the road.
I'm worried about my vision.
Which way should I go?
I need help with my decision.
Which road should I choose?
Despite popular opinion,
I veer onto the road traveled by few.

Born
Again.
Breathing Gods Word
New oxygen.
So needy.
God seeking.
Growing.
Spiritual teething.
Sin fleeting.
Spirit feeding.
Dependant
But so freeing.
Believing.
Christ meeting. Burden lifted.
Christ bleeding. Blame shifted.
Christ redeeming. Heart beating.
Cured sickness.
I did wrong.
Christ shows forgiveness.
I sigh in relief.
Weight lifted.
Eternal Security.
Adopted into Gods family.

Which road will you decide?
Some choose the narrow.
But most choose a spiritual suicide,
When they stay on the road that is wide.

I choose to be alive.
