Timeless Love

by amy grace

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick…
At a steady tone, the hands click.
It is time. It was the time
to commit the darkest crime.

The traitor planted a kiss,
which made His disciples hiss.
Staying calm, our King above
continued to show his love.

Drip Drop Drip Drop Drip…
The ruthless soldiers cracked the whip.
From His wounds gushed the sticky blood.
The fiery red turned to crimson flood.

Under the cross He was nailed, they teased.
At the last drop, a deafening cry released.
Time paused; Air condensed; Mockery ceased.
Our dreadful sins are finally cleansed.

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick…
The pass of time is extremely quick.
In 2012, the story still matters.
The claret red in crystal glass glisters.

Lift the glass; Gaze up at the cross.
Live again. It's your life may He gloss.
The price of sins is gruesome
while the love of God is awesome.
