My Christmas Wish for You

Like a child at Christmas overwhelmed by all the toys,
Sometimes we're so distracted we begin to lose our joy.
Our lists of things to buy gets longer by the day,
And oftentimes our schedule does not leave time to pray.

Now if you watch a child who's in this situation,
With many different choices causing them frustration,
They will look to find some special little thing,
To focus on its beauty and the pleasure that it brings.

It doesn't need to clatter, ring bells, or spin around,
It doesn't need to say its name, or make a funny sound.
It only needs to fill their hearts with wonderment and glee,
For the greatest things in life, are simple, pure, and free.

In the midst of life's confusion, the glitter, and the fuss,
May we look past all the chaos and take a moment to adjust.
Look up to find the brightest "Star" above all worldly strife,
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Greatest Gift of Life!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
