Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

by Camille Castillo

Hark! Is that the Herald Angels I hear singing?
Peace to this world tonight they are bringing.
We will all give peace and glory to the newborn King
And tomorrow business as usual, will begin once again.
Oh holy night, yes the stars are brightly shining
As our Lord and Savior watches, silently crying.
As we fall to our knees on this night most divine
We worship Christ Jesus and give him our time
With carols and praise, gifts for all but him
His one wish forgotten, true peace from within.

Gloria, In excelsis deo

My dear brothers and sisters, do you hear what I hear?
Can you hear the sound of Christ's shedding of tears?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save us
Only to be pained by corruption, evil, and injustice?
On this cold winter night, born is the king of Israel,
Only to witness this world to Satan, sold at retail.

Gloria, In excelsis deo

Hark! Tonight God and sinners will surely reconcile
As even the most vile in church, will sit just a while
To honor their savior, and give praise unto him
And tomorrow it's back to a life chock full of sin.
Yes, joyful nations will together most surely rise
Even the worst of sinners will look up to the sky.

Gloria, In excelsis deo

Oh holy night, yes, the stars are brightly shining
As our Lord and Savior watches, silently crying.
Fall to your knees, please hear the angels' voices
As they ask of us all to make much better choices.
Tonight, all creation will cease with hymns of joy
Just for tonight, Christ is our Lord, the newborn boy
Only to be forgotten, discarded after this holy night
As he cries to our heavenly father, with all his might.
