Harvest Days

by Deborah Smith Plemmons © 2018

God made such a time for harvest;
A lot of work and little rest.
God's blessings make it worth it all.
Don't you just love our season, Fall?

Pepper, squash, corn, and tomatoes,
Peas, carrots, beets, and potatoes.
Many more veggies grown as planned,
Are washed, eaten fresh, frozen, or canned.

From private gardens, many share;
Though they planted and harvested with care.
We're thankful for a generous heart;
Letting others enjoy just a small part.
