Up from the Grave

by Deborah Smith Plemmons

Down on His knees, in the garden He prayed,
"Not My will, but Thine; the ransom be paid."

Up on the cross, He shed His blood and cried,
"It is finished." He bowed His head and died.

Down in the tomb, three days and nights also three,
As Jonah was in the whale, so in the earth Christ would be.

Up from the grave, He arose the third day;
Victory over death; the price He did pay.

Down on the earth, He was seen of men and women;
For all who saw Him, knew He had arose again.

Up in Heaven, sitting at God's right hand,
Making intercession for us, Jesus did as God planned.

Matthew 26-28
