It's Your Day

Congratulations, it's morning, you're out of bed, your day's begun,
Then we shall see how well you've used it by the setting of the sun.
There are those problems of yesterday that you failed to clear away,
They'll have to be solved before you can work on things of this day.

The new day is more difficult with yesterday's problems tagging along,
For every hour in it is needed to keep things from going wrong.
Then if all it's problems are solved by the time it is completed,
That drive home will be relaxing rather than feeling defeated.

You are wise in giving this day your best, to put in it all you can,
Use every opportunity it offers, because you will never live it again.
This day comes once in your lifetime, one chance at it is all you get,
Then if there's a tomorrow, these chances may not exist, only regret.

As you begin this day, please remember that it is a gift given to you,
A day that's been added to your life and something only God can do.
It was Him that put you in this day, so let Him guide you through it,
With any opportunity you have to honor Him, just go ahead and do it.
