I am unworthy

by Bill Keysaer

I am unworthy, you are Holy
Next to you I am simply lowly
I have failed you time and time again
Still you have chosen to call me friend

You tell me adorn yourself with glory
This even though you know my story
To you I am the lowest of traitors
Yet daily you give me favor

On the the days you hear me cursing
Your response is I'll give him mercy
During the times I look to you then turn my face
You still love me and give me grace

I've broke the law I have no case
Then you came in and said I'll take his place
Death was my punishment all hope was lost
Then you came here and hung on a cross

For years I laughed and mocked you on the streets
Now you are the one who gives me peace
I'm just a man and not very clever
You say come with me we'll be co-heirs forever
