Hosanna to the King

by Deborah Smith Plemmons

If there had been no palm branches to usher Christ in,
Then there would be no singing, "Hosanna to the King".

If there had been no shedding of blood nor pain,
Then there would be no salvation to gain.

If there had been no death on the cross,
Then all mankind would be eternally lost.

If there had been no resurrection from the dead,
Then there would be no crown on His head.

Hallelujah for the palms.
Hallelujah for the pain.
Hallelujah for the cross.
Hallelujah for the crown.
