Immanuel and I

by Davis © 2018

Immanuel and I,
Divided by the sky,
We meet within the heart,
Oh we meet within the heart,

Immanuel and I,
He pleads me, "Don't be shy,"
I fall on wobbly knees,
Oh I fall on wobbly knees,

Immanuel and I,
He stands me eye to eye,
I dare not look away,
Oh I dare not look away,

Immanuel and I,
My shame begets a cry,
He says, "Its paid in full,"
Oh He says, "Its paid in full!"

Immanuel and I,
We share a peaceful sigh,
I fall around His neck,
Oh I fall around His neck,

Immanuel and I,
He never says, "Goodbye,"
But I conclude with amen,
Oh I conclude with amen!
