Beware, little lambs

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh

Beware, little lambs, beware, beware -
Of the big, bad wolf out there.
He roams around, looking for a prey;
In the dead of night and in the day.

His aim is simply to lure you into sin;
Then the blaming and shaming can begin.
Lies and deceit he'll gladly employ -
To kill your peace and steal your joy.

He'll make you doubt God's loving grace.
He'll say to you: "You won't finish this race."
He'll tell you to run from Jesus, and hide;
When in reality, His arms are open wide.

He'll make you believe God is mad at you.
Your enemy knows, what fear can do.
He'll sit back, relax, take a deep breath;
And watch your faith slowly bleed to death.

It's a satisfactory end to his evil mission:
Another insecure and guilt-ridden Christian.
Another child of God, too afraid to go Home;
Lost in the wilderness, feeling alone.

So beware, little lambs, beware, beware -
Of the big, bad wolf out there.
And remember, even in friendly disguise;
Satan is and always will be the father of lies!
