AMEN

by Kevin Smead © 2020

Amen, it is such a little word.
Hebrew, yet in many nations heard.
“So let it be,” the word is so defined,
Acquiescence of the heart and mind.

In our prayer, we place it at the end,
A faithful witness wishing to append.
Believing in the one to whom we pray,
Confessing there is truth in what we say.

We hear a promise, and our cries out
“Amen!” God’s Word should never be in doubt.
Of all the promises in Scripture found
Not one shall fall to pieces on the ground.

“Amen!” It is a title for our Lord.
He is the truth, and is to be adored.
He is the faithful witness to God’s love,
Which flows into our hearts from up above.

So let us pray, and let us hear His Word.
And let us in this faith be undeterred.
Let us honor Him and turn from sin.
Now let us say this little word “Amen!”

Matthew 7:15
King James Version

"Beware of false prophets, which come to
you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves."
