The Good News

by Deborah Bell © 2015

Blasting through the airwaves… for those who want to hear
The sound of unrest… strife and pain… uniting hate with fear
So loudly it shouts out the claim that this is now the norm
That in this modern century… you lay down and conform

Our ears are being filled with every evil action known
And by the time we hear it… it is warped and overblown
It seems they have a goal to send out panic in the air
But any good or Godly deed they choose to never share

Why is good so hated?  Why is it disdained
Why was Jesus crucified for truth that he proclaimed?
When he was jeered and hate revered they made a statement strong
That man without the Maker will not choose right over wrong

And though they try to silence Him who stands as the Supreme
His Word goes forth without delay to ransom and redeem
A mighty wondrous power sent to those who don’t refuse
To heal their heart... when He imparts… His gospel of good news…

As cold waters to a thirsty soul,
so is good news from a far country.
Proverbs 25:25
