Peter Do You Love Me?

"Peter do you love me?"
Jesus said to him that day.
The Lord was so compassionate
And tender in His way.

Peter had denied him,
“I do not know the man.”
Now to restore him Jesus came
And mercy was His plan.

“Peter do you love me?”
(For lack here was his sin)
He asked him once, he asked him twice,
He asked him yet again.

“Lord you know I love you,”
Sincerely Peter said,
Then Jesus reconfirmed his call,
By him sheep would be fed.

No matter how you’ve fallen,
No matter how you’ve sinned,
Christ can reconfirm the call
And show Himself your friend.
