A link in the chain,
Just a very small part
Of God’s work on the whole,
Of His work on the heart
Some think it useless
To work such small scale
But tell that to Jonah
And that man-eating whale
Some use a trumpet
Proclaiming their role
Blow out of proportion
Their part of the whole
Some aren’t contented
One link on the chain
They strive to become
Every link that remains
But this to their hurt
In the end we will see
I can’t be the link
You’re intended to be
So always be ready
To speak words of life
To lend out your hands
To shine as God’s light
Seek chances abroad
To minister care
Become a small part
Of what God’s doing there
Go with the Gospel
And never refrain
Some might get saved
Through your link in the chain
