Thy Will Be Done

by Cheryll MayberrySmith © 2020

In the Kidron Valley there is a remarkable place
Rich in history, beauty, peace, and quieted grace.
Twas' the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus went to pray,
For it was that very night, He would be betrayed!
He was sorrowful and troubled. He knew His time was near.
He saw visions of the cross, the hammer, nails and spear!
He whispered, "My soul is overwhelmed to the very point of death."
He was so deeply burdened, it was hard to catch His breath.
Three times he humbly prayed, kneeling near a tree.
"My Father, if it's possible, please take this cup from Me."
His sweat was like drops of blood, in His anguished torment.
To give Him strength and comfort, an Angel was sent.
Jesus said, "The Son Of Man has now been betrayed!"
The hour had come when they would take Him away.
Before His departure, God's Precious Holy Son
Said, "Father, not as I will but Thy will be done."
