THE GREATEST GIFT

The Lord looks down from his Heavenly place,
Full of love for a people that live in disgrace,
He's saddened and mourns because love has gone hence,
But he shouts out for joy when a sinner repents.

Because that's one less man on the fast road to Hell,
And one more notch in the liberty bell,
But does man really know the extent of his grace,
Can he not comprehend the light of his face.

Because man says, "O Lord, I'm too bad to be saved,
I don't go to church and I'm badly behaved,
I gamble and drink and I party till dawn,
I'm an evil man Lord. I wish I weren't born".

Another man says, "God has no time for me,
I'm a loser with nothing, was destined to be,
My wife ran away because my love had grown cold,
Yes, my heart made of stone is a thing to behold".

A woman says, "Lord I can't come when you call,
On the way I might stumble. I'm afraid I might fall,
I'm scared of the light that lights up the way,
Because the cover of night is revealed by the day".

But God who is patient even unto the end,
Is a competent master and benevolent friend,
His love pours out to the least of all men,
As it was in the beginning so it will be again.

Men and women must change and see with their eyes,
And close their ears to the enemies lies,
The grace of the Lord covers all who will come,
His love is for all, not only for some.

So don't be resigned to live with your sin,
Step away from the evil, let God's new work begin,
If you let him he'll heal you and take all your pain,
And the death of his Son will not be in vain.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Please friends, don't ignore or belittle the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. He suffered unimaginable agonies so you could be free. If you think that your sins are too grievous or that you are too bad to change, think again. What may seem impossible to us mere men is possible with God. If you are willing to humble yourself for just a minute and ask him for help with genuine repentence, he will come to you and heal your pain. Don't let the enemy fool you into beleiving that there is no hope for you and that your path is already set. Remember that he wants to keep you away from God so that he will not be cast down alone.
