Jesus, The Name Above Every Name

by Margaret Cagle

There are many names that are famous.
They are recorded on history book pages,
But there is one name above all others
That has remained throughout the ages.

That great name is Jesus, the Son of God.
We use other terms to describe Him too.
He is the Messiah, Savior, and Redeemer.
These divine terms are only just a few.

Countless many in the world love Jesus,
But there are many who hate His name.
As for me, I love Jesus, my great Savior.
His blood washed away my sin and shame.

Jesus died and was buried and arose again.
Over death and the grave He won victory.
He came to this world to seek and to save
Poor lost sinners just like you and me.

At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow,
And every tongue will confess Him one day
To the glory of God, the Heavenly Father.
"Jesus Christ is Lord!" each one will say.
