The Final Breath Before Forgiveness

by Mea Bradson © 2019

The storming waters had filled my blue body whole
The summer’s rush of heat had burned my weary soul
The iniquity of my actions had been known
The dark shades of my footprints had began to show

I refuse to hide this sin of mine anymore
God knows my strength, but I know beyond He does soar
I have withheld my forgiveness from dawn ‘til dawn
I have buried my guilt so deep where it belongs

This is my story, my pattern, and my history
Please forgive my transgressions, even my mysteries
