I Need You Still

by Raydene Nash

I do not mean to let you down, my friend,
By speaking wrong or not speaking at all.
While inconsistencies I try to mend,
It is upon the Lord for help I call.
By my free will I let the Spirit in
Those places inside me He’s needed most.
From victory I fight, and I will win,
Because my Jesus is the Lord of Hosts.
I do not mean to let you down, my friend,
By being sidetracked with an attitude,
And while it’s true my faults the Lord will mend
I need you still, I don’t want to be rude.
It’s being friends with you that sharpens me,
And ever think I of you graciously.
