TWO SHIPS PASSING

by David Mitchell © 2021

TWO SHIPS PASSING
Life's voyage is an ocean filled with uncertainty.
In this vessel of life, we search the depths for clarity.
Each a boarding pass to a time and destination
on a ship leaving port to a place called eternity.

Anchored to earth's harbor are two realizations.
Not one, but two ships are making reservations.
Each to another world, each to eternal places,
each a choice in life's final narration.

One choice clings to this world it embraces,
on a ship called lies since the beginning of ages.
Chained to sin on misread chartered waters
are stormed tossed souls on a fiery sea that rages.

This ship's master is surely an imposter.
He's chartered this course for mankind's slaughter.
An angelic being who betrayed God's beginning,
when he fell from the stars from heaven's altar.

Alas, time to set sail on a soul searching bearing,
on a ship snatching souls from waters unforgiving.
A lifeline to separate hope from despair,
and weathers the storm of mankind's misgivings.

So seek God's compass with just one prayer.
Your lifeline is Jesus, there is no elsewhere.
On a sacrificial cross all passage was paid
to save drowning hearts from eternal disrepair.

Trust God's word and do not be afraid.
Confess with your heart and be not dismayed.
Final Port of Call is now heaven to gain.
Two Ships Passing, which choice is to be made?
