The Love Letter

Today I read a letter,
'Twas written long ago;
It said dear my beloved,
You know I love you so.

I did not want to leave you.
I knew I had to go,
But this please do remember,
I'll always love you so.

My love is everlasting,
I'll soon be at your side,
When I can come and get you,
And you will be my bride.

With this I closed my Bible,
'Twas written by the King,
That wonderful love letter,
That made sad hearts to sing.
