THANKFULNESS THROUGH THE YEARS

by Janette Lueveen

THANKFULNESS THROUGH THE YEARS

When I was a child at Grandmother’s knee
She said, my dear, be all you can be
The one who made you, watches from above
He will protect you always, with His eternal Love
Thank you, Grandma, for your confidence in me

As I grew older and started school
My mother taught me, God’s golden Rule
Be kind to others, and never be weak
If you need guidance, Godly wisdom seek
Thank you, Mother, for guiding me

My teacher quite firm, but always cheerful
Child, no need to be timid and fearful
Always do the best you can
If you fail, Jesus will help you stand
Thank you, teacher, for supporting me

The one I love, for whose love I yearn
Has promised to be faithful, and love in return
Together we will bow on bended knees
And pledge our Lord, to always please
Thank you, my love, for loving me
