Joined To Him

The light of God lives in my core.
He came that day I opened my door.
The blade, His word throughout me tore,
His MIGHTLY truth and not some lore.

He gave me faith; He opened my eyes.
He granted me life among the wise.
My heart now soars above the skies.
This flesh of sin soon surely dies.

For mercy came from Him to me.
His love engulfed and set me free.
Forever now with Him I be.
Yes, God and Son and Spirit, all three.

I walk with Him Infused with hope,
and tethered to him with silken rope,
no longer on that slippery slope,
I welcome now His interlope.

I cast my cares on Him and trust
my treasures now with Him, no rust.
All my riches with Him, I must,
this life, this one He made from dust.

My mind is now on things above,
the one who came from God, a dove,
my Christ, my Lord, crowned by His love.
His witness now - I've spoken thereof.

I'm joined to Him, forever sure.
His love for me will ever endure.
HIs mercy, His blood forever my cure.
His word, His spirit my constant lure.
