Turn your sorrow into gold,
Redeem your grief and pain,
For with God, nothing is ever wasted:
Today’s loss can be tomorrow’s gain.

Resolve that no defeat is final,
Even death can be turned to good,
Hand the hurting over to the Lord,
Then do the things you should:

Commit to learning from mistakes
Whatever lessons can be known,
To behaving in tough situations
As one who is fully grown…

Decide to somehow use heartaches
To benefit the sad and weak,
Encourage others with hope of healing
For God will, through you, speak.

Turn your recovery into pearls
Of wisdom, inspiration, and light;
Reflect the glorious frugality of God
Who makes dawns from the darkness of night.
