A CUP OF WINE

by Janette Lueveen

The Master has presented His sparkling red wine
Its fruit crushed from His rarest vine

From the cross every precious drop drained
Sacrificed for all, for what was to be gained

Imposters cannot match the fragrance or color
This wine is utterly pure, this is no other!

When you partake, at first it might seem bitter
Immense powers cause the heart to flitter

Then sweetness in your veins will arise and flow
The joy within your heart will begin to show

You will be scorned if you drink from this stein
Fear not, God assures “you’ll always be mine!”

This choice might appear only one time
Consider what you risk before you decline
