Surprises

We all experience surprises
almost every day of our life
some bring us joy
while in others, we find strife.

We serve an all-knowing God
who's never taken by surprise
I'm reminded that he sees it all
with his loving, compassionate eyes.

Maybe surprises should remind us
that we're not in control
and it's best to surrender all to God
our body, mind and soul.

An unexpected encounter
can cause us pain
but godliness with contentment
will always be our gain.

When life throws us a curve
and we don't know what to do
let's keep our eyes on Jesus
trust in him to see us through.
