Praises and Thanksgiving

by Kristine Stanton © 2025

Dear LORD,

Thank You for the scars You bear
on hands that uplift me.
Thank You for the nails that pierced
Your feet unto a tree.

Thank You for all You endured —
the sacrifice You made
for me and all humanity —
the penalty You paid.

Thank You for Your selfless act —
the one redeeming me.
Thank You for Your blessings, LORD —
forgiveness — love — mer-cy.

Now, I ask You, Jesus Christ, to . . .

Let me hold Your nail-pierced hands
throughout the days ahead.
Let me follow You, dear LORD,
so I'll n'er be misled.

Let me show my gratitude
for setting my soul free —
saved from being bound by chains
by sin — the enemy.

Let me bow before You, LORD,
in humbleness and prayer.
Hear my voice of thanksgiving
and praises I declare.
