A land of milk and honey

Christians have inherited the Promised Land,
Where Jesus ever upholds us with His hand.
The Lord takes great delight in our way;
If to His Holy Spirit we hearken, and obey.

We are His people, the sheep of His flock,
And Jesus cares for us 'round the clock.
He keeps watch over us, both day and night;
Teaching us to do what is good in His sight.

Occasionally we might stumble, or even fall,
But we'll never be utterly cast down.
Our Good Shepherd straightaway picks us up;
With His loving grace He daily fills our cup.

Jesus gives us rest, beside waters cool and still;
We find pasture in His good and perfect will.
He leads us forth in paths of righteousness;
He surrounds us with mercy, and tenderness.

Sometimes we go through a deep, dark valley;
Yet all is well, Jesus Christ is our Ally.
It matters little, if skies are overcast or sunny -
The land is flowing with milk and honey!
