My mother's walker

by Gloria Beach © 2003

Her walker sat in a corner
for nearly six months long
one day it was advertised
now it's sold and gone.

I have many happy memories
that still linger in my heart
of my dear precious mother
how she loved that little cart.

Her address now is heaven
she's resting in God's care
where there's no pain or sorrow
and no need for walkers there.

As I say goodbye to her walker
the tears begin to flow
but I'm thankful for the memories
that she left me here below.
