New Testament

by Raydene Nash

See Jesus lifted on the cross so high,
Flesh torn, He bled for such as you and me,
And many others who His name deny.
Son of God's love, one of triunity,
His raiment by the Roman soldiers seized,
Laid in a borrowed grave, a watch they kept.
Recovering the death and hades keys
When in His death descending to the depths,
Our Savior wrestled them from Satan's grasp,
Who'd kill God's Son to satisfy His greed.
Christ took them from the devil and his asps,
The Spirit, water, and His blood agree.
Unmerited, for us His life Christ spent
Then rose, beginning a new testament.
