The free gift of God

The cross meant shame
And so much pain.
For the sins of the world,
God's Lamb was slain.

Jesus' body for us all
Made broken bread.
Three days He dwelled
Among the dead.

On the third day He was
Raised by God's power.
Oh, glorious, victorious
Resurrection hour!

The firstborn Son of God
Now declared to be.
Hope, Life and Salvation;
For you and for me.

If we truly believe -
He died for us sinners,
And believe in our heart
God raised Jesus…

And if "Jesus is Lord"
With the mouth we confess;
We receive from God
The robe of righteousness.

If we leave sin behind,
And follow Jesus' way -
We'll walk with Him in white;
Forever and a day!

Out of death's cold grip,
God will surely save us too.
Eternal life is in His Son;
For me and for you.

Jesus Christ is salvation;
God says it, so it's true -
Jesus is His gift, freely given
To me and to you!
