Dream Land

by Bob Peterson

Lay your weary head to rest.
Let the troubles of today just float on by.
Please honey, please don't cry.
I know your weary and I know you tired,
But I'm here now and I'll be here when you arise,
So come on now close your eyes.

And things will look better tomorrow when we see them in a different light.
We'll take our worries and our fears and put them in God's hands tonight.
And know that I love you, now and forever more.
So, sail on to dream land. I'll meet you on the other shore.

Angles setting all around your bed.
If you listen, you can hear them whisper or so it seems.
They're wishing you pleasant dreams.
The stars are dancing in the sky tonight.
They sway to the music that God has written, and the angels play.
It's the twilight serenade.

And I don't know why the wind must blow, and I don't know why the rain must fall.
I swear sometimes things get so confused; it seems I don't know anything at all.
But I know that I love you, and I know God loves you too.
So, rest yourself in your father's arms, and know he's watching over you.
