Darkness Versus Light

by Carol Connell © 2021
https://writeathome.wordpress.com/

With one little spark of a candle,
in darkness,
there breaks forth a light.
Faint flame that does waver and flicker,
somehow can intimidate night.

Throw all the darkness you can
at a light that seems dim and faint,
even obsidian blackness,
that small luminary won't taint.

Our world, bombarded with sin.
Many fight against what's true and right,
but we know in the end who will win,
because darkness can't overcome light.
