KNOWLEDGE VS SPIRIT

You've got a great collection many Bibles of all styles
A range of Commentaries that goes on for many miles,
Study tools on your computer, also on the phone
Your knowledge is impressive, not much is unknown.

You've studied in the Hebrew, conversant with the Greek,
You're learning Aramaic cause it's what The Lord did speak,
Your memory of Scripture is awesome to say the least,
Your study group is successful, knowledge is increased.

There's nothing wrong with knowledge, to study is to gain
Remembrance of Holy Scripture exercises the brain,
But taking pride in your knowledge does not lead to good
The Holy Spirit must be involved so it is correctly understood.

Interpretation can differ from one Saint to another
What God has clearly written, man's ideas can smother,
So always ask our Merciful Lord to give you clarity
And you'll be guided the narrow way to avoid insanity.

So don't be like a Pharisee, all proud and legalistic
Trust the Spirit's council and keep it realistic,
Be open to what The Lord reveals despite old preset notions,
Enjoy a close relationship and productive devotions.

Nobody wants a meeting where the world has all the focus
Rumors, gossip and conspiracy theories, a lot of hocus pocus,
We want to gather and hear what the Spirit has to say
Let's all pray and listen to God while it is still today.
