THE FOURTH IN THE FIRE

The fourth in the fire
Who was the fourth man in the fire?
They saw four as the flames leapt higher.
There was Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
But then a fourth was seen through the glow.

Such a mystery, to see a fourth,
But He was seen walking back and forth.
How did this happen they began to wonder,
Did they miscount the original number?

No, there were originally three,
On that, they could all agree.
It must be a miracle they all said,
Or in the fire, they would all be dead.

Could it be the fourth was the Lord?
Had He secretly come on board?
Had He come to make His presence known?
To show us the three were not alone.

We know that He is always with us,
Our loving Savior, whose name is Jesus.
He will be with us forever more…
Until we knock on Heaven's door.
