You Shelter Me

by Catherine Weeks

You, Adonai Yahweh, are the stronghold of my life!
You are my steady shield against every strife.
My refuge, You sustain me in my hour of need,
From bondage of sin and chains of fear I am freed.
I rest secure in Your palm where You shelter me.

You hold my present and future, whom should I fear?
None can shake my courage when to You I am near.
In the day of adversity, I'll be concealed
When trustingly to You my heart and mind I yield.
The sure protection of Your presence shelters me.

In the shadow of Your wings I find rest and peace.
Like a strong mountain I stand and my troubles cease.
I'll not be overwhelmed though I stumble and fall,
You're there to hold my hand the instant that I call.
In the rough storm winds, Your bold pinions shelter me.

Your vast strength is the solid rock on which I stand,
I am hidden and upheld by Your great right hand.
From Your hand I can't be taken or forced away,
I am surrounded, treasured every single day.
With Your faithful, eternal love You shelter me.
