Avoiding Sin

God loves all of his dear children
And knows what's best for us.
He wants us to obey his way
Without a lot of fuss.

It's easy to ignore God's way
When we would rather sin,
Which weakens our relationship
If we don't honor him.

Our God did suffer for our sake
Through Jesus, his own son,
Forgiving those who do confess
The evil we have done.

But how can we avoid more sin?
We can't do it alone.
By keeping close through frequent prayer
Holiness will be shown.

Christ living in us is our hope
For us to avoid sin.
By living close to Christ alone,
Our only way to win.
