Child by Faith

By love so strong,
I tell this tale.
As love from Christ
to me would sail.
His love on me does fall.

A chasm deep,
A gulf so wide.
The breach so far,
By sin I die,
but then He sent His call.

Caught was I
by Satan's deception
with tears of shame
at sin's inception,
a life of grief and strife.

But the Father's will
that I should live,
His Son's sure gift,
His life would give.
His work gave me new life.

His love so strong
that gap He crossed,
and came His love
to claim me - lost,
to bring me gently home.

And Holy Spirit
my teacher now.
He lives inside,
I know not how(?!)
He stopped my fruitless roam.

Eternal life
from Them a gift,
as love of God
covered my rift.
I'm counted with the blessed!

And cherished now
by God am I,
His child by faith,
yes in His eye.
By faith His child at rest.

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
